It was a gloomy day starting out at Cedar Creek Barn for Erin and Billy’s wedding! I fully expected a day full of rain but they lucked out and by 11am the rain had completely stopped and by the afternoon we had clear and beautiful skies! However, they were not as lucky for their rehearsal the evening before where I heard a story of a truck getting stuck going up a very wet and steep hill – not ideal :). Aside from the minor concern of rain the only other minor hiccup was hair and makeup going longer than expected (pro tip: always expect hair and makeup to go long). However, we had built some leeway into their schedule and the rest the day still went off without a hitch!
It was a genuine pleasure to work with Erin and Billy for so many reasons. One of these reasons is not only how genuinely in love they are with one another but also how much love they have towards their parents. They each wrote letters for their parents and read them those letters during the wedding day. It was such a beautiful few moments when they had a chance on this incredibly important day in their lives to share how much they appreciated all their parents had given them. I’m certain it is something none of them will ever forget. Erin and Billy also decided to write their own vows which is something I absolutely love to see at weddings. It adds something so special and personal to the ceremony when a couple uses their own words when making promises to their (very) soon to be spouse.
I wish them both the absolute best and know they are going to have a fulfilling and joyful marriage. Cheers!
