I have lived in the Twin Cities my entire life and have visited Como Zoo/Conservatory multiple times through the years. However, I had NEVER explored the greater Como Park which I know now was such a bad idea! This was such an awesome suggestion by Sydney and Daniel and I am so happy we were able to use this beautiful location for their engagement session. They were one of the lucky couples that won one of my free engagement sessions from a contest I ran on Facebook back on Black Friday – it was such a joy to finally meet in person and deliver them some great photos.
Before this session began they assured me they had never done any professional modeling and feigned nervousness. After seeing the results and how natural they were that evening I have a hard time believing them! I will say, when two people are deeply in love it is so much easier to capture natural and tender moments between the them. They told me they have been together for 11 years and it is so evident how comfortable they are with one another and how much fun they have together. Their joy for life was contagious and I had such a fun time exploring Como Park with them and finding tons of beautiful locations together.
My favorite moment during this session was definitely when we (granted, they had probably seen this place many times before) discovered the steps leading up to the white pergola. It is such a stunning off-the-beaten-path scene that, in my opinion, helped produce some striking images of these two. Daniel plays guitar/bass in a band in his off-time and therefore requested they do a few stone-face rock band photos in this location. It was an awesome idea and it really produced some images showing their strength as a couple.
They are a great couple of people and I know they are going to have a perfect wedding day and a really great life together afterwards. Cheers to you both!
